VANCOUVER, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - Mr. Patrick Morris reports:
Gold Star Resources Corp. (the "Company") (NEX: GXX.H) announces it has
granted permission to VMS Ventures Inc ("VMS" TSX.V:VMS) to include recently
acquired "Cowan River" (FRE 54088) property situated in the VMS discovery area
at Reed Lake, Manitoba, in VMS's VTEM airborne survey. (See VMS News Release
dated January 3rd, 2008.) The property includes three Spectrum Geophysical
Targets and is within the boundaries of VMS Ventures license 268A.
In addition, The Company has also recently contracted Minconsult of
Vernon, B.C to commence a work program of line cutting and ground geophysics
to assist in completing a 43-101 technical report on the property.
The VTEM survey has documented capabilities to detect highly conductive
anomalies such as massive sulphide deposits to greater depths than the
previous generation of airborne systems. This is particularly useful for the
discovery of buried or hidden massive sulphide deposits. This technology
enables a more effective means to explore the area.
The VTEM system employs a large, somewhat tent-shaped array that hangs
from the underside of the helicopter, with a large outer loop at the bottom
end. A current is sent through this outer loop, which energizes the ground,
creating a secondary return EM field that is measured by the smaller, inner
receiving loop and recorded digitally for analysis.
The Company is a mineral exploration company based in Vancouver, British
