GLV's Water Treatment Group Awarded Over $19 M in Large-Scale Contracts in the Municipal Market and Energy Sector since the Beginning of the Fourth Quarter

MONTREAL, Feb. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - (Note: All amounts are in Canadian
dollars unless otherwise indicated.) Management of GLV Inc. ("GLV" or "the
Company"; ticker symbols LVG.A and LVG.B) is pleased to announce that the
Water Treatment Group's activities continue to grow in its key markets. Since
the beginning of the fourth quarter of GLV's fiscal 2008, the Water Treatment
Group has been awarded several large-scale contracts worth a total of $19.2 M,
including $10.4 M in the municipal market in the United States and the United
Kingdom, and $8.8 M in the energy sector in the Middle East and the United
Kingdom. Substantially all of these new contracts will be finalized within
GLV's next fiscal year, ending March 31, 2009. They add to the numerous
smaller orders also garnered since the beginning of the fourth quarter,
included in the Water Treatment Group's order backlog worldwide.
In the municipal market, the Enviroquip division, which currently
benefits from solid demand in the United States for all its products, has
notably garnered two orders totalling close to $6 M to deliver submerged
membrane bioreactors (MBR) and related equipment to municipalities in New
Mexico and Colorado. One of these contracts will be completed in December
2008, and the second, in June 2009. The other large-scale orders recently
obtained by the Water Treatment Group in the municipal market, primarily in
the United States but also in the United Kingdom, relate to various
clarification, digestion and aeration equipment and other wastewater treatment
processes marketed by Eimco Water Technologies, Enviroquip and Copa. These
contracts will be completed between May 2008 and January 2010.
The Water Treatment Group has also been awarded three major contracts
totalling $8.8 M in the energy sector. In October 2008, the group will deliver
a complete water intake screening system worth over $5 M, comprising of five
Dual Flow(R) screening units and several ancillary pieces of equipment,
designed for the new power station of a major aluminum plant in Qatar.
Furthermore, in May 2008, it will deliver various equipment for the condensers
of a fossil-fuel power station in the United Arab Emirates. The third
contract, worth close to $3 M, consists of the supply, in October 2008, of a
screening system to a power station located in Scotland. "The energy sector is
one of the key market segments targeted by our Water Treatment Group's
development strategy," pointed out Richard Verreault, President and Chief
Operating Officer of GLV and currently responsible for the Water Treatment
Group's leadership. "In fact, one of this group's major objectives for the
coming years is to further balance its revenues between the municipal market
and the industrial market. Accordingly, we are pursuing our efforts to
leverage some of our current technologies and to acquire others in order to
increase our presence in targeted niches of the industrial market on the
international scene, including the energy sector where there is a particular
need for high-performance water treatment solutions."
Richard Verreault added that the Water Treatment Group's overall
development is progressing according to management's expectations. "We remain
focused on our long-term objective of positioning our group as a foremost
player in this growth industry worldwide," he concluded.
