GLV's Pulp and Paper Group Obtains Several Large-Scale Contracts Worth Close to $19 M in the Last Few Weeks

MONTREAL, Sept. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - (Note: All amounts are in Canadian
dollars unless otherwise indicated.) Management of GLV Inc. ("GLV" "the
Company"; ticker symbols LVG.A and LVG.B) is pleased to announce that since
the official start of GLV's operations on August 10, 2007, its Pulp and Paper
Group has been awarded several large-scale contracts totalling close to $19 M
on international markets, in addition to numerous smaller contracts, including
in the aftermarket. Through its new technology centre in Karlstad (Sweden),
the Pulp and Paper Group notably won a contract worth more than $7 M to
design, manufacture and deliver, by the fall of 2008 two Compact Press(TM)
wash press systems, along with installation, start-up and employee training
services. This contract is part of a project to upgrade Portucel's pulp mill
located in Setzbal, Portugal, in order to reduce its chemical consumption and
improve pulp quality. The Pulp and Paper Group has also been awarded a mandate
to rebuild and modernize, at a cost of almost $3 M, some of the existing
equipment of a pulp and paper producer in the United States. This work will be
completed in September 2008. In addition, by January 2008, the group will
deliver various new equipment to a Chinese producer, including a BTF(TM)
automatic dilution system for headboxes. The other contracts involve the
delivery of pulp screening and cleaning systems for mills located in China,
India, Russia and Sweden.
"We are pleased with these new contracts that attest to our Pulp and
Paper Group's growing international presence and stronger technology offering
thanks, in particular, to the acquisition of high-performance technologies,
such as Compact Press(TM) and BTF(TM), which meet the needs of the global pulp
and paper industry for increased plant capacity and efficiency and lower
costs," said Richard Verreault, President and Chief Operating Officer of GLV.
"Besides achieving large-scale contracts, we continue to broaden our revenue
base and our share of the aftermarket, which remains one of the major drivers
of our Pulp and Paper Group's strategy."
