Global Semiconductor Alliance Announces 2007 Award Winners



    Awards Recognize the Achievements of Semiconductor Companies

    SAN JOSE, CALIF., December 10 /CNW/ - Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA)
announces the winners of its 2007 awards, presented at its Awards Dinner
Celebration on Thursday, December 6, 2007 in Santa Clara, Calif.

    Members of the semiconductor industry selected the Most Respected
Private, Emerging Public and Public Fabless Company Award winners by
identifying the companies they most respect in terms of products, vision and
future opportunities. This year's private company winner is Inphi Corporation;
the emerging public company winner is Atheros Communications, Inc., and the
public company winner is NVIDIA Corporation.

    GSA and financial analysts evaluated the financial health of public
fabless semiconductor companies by comparing a number of financial indices to
determine the winner of this year's Best Financially Managed Company Award,
MediaTek Inc.

    Private fabless companies that doubled revenue over eight consecutive
quarters ending June 2007 were eligible to receive the Outstanding Financial
Performance by a Private Fabless Company Award. This year's winner is RMI
(Raza Microelectronics, Inc.).

    Public fabless companies that doubled either revenue or net income over
eight consecutive quarters ending June 2007 were eligible to receive the
Outstanding Financial Performance by a Public Fabless Company Award. Winners
include Sigma Designs, Inc. and Techwell, Inc.

    GSA's Venture Capital Advisory Council selected the Fabless Start-Up to
Watch Award winner by identifying the company that has demonstrated the
potential to positively change its market or the semiconductor industry in
general through the innovative use of or a new application for semiconductor
technology. The winner is SiBEAM, Inc.

    The Favorite Fabless Picks winners are based on historical and projected
data. Arnab Chanda of Deutsche Bank Securities chose Broadcom Corporation, and
Mark Lipacis of Morgan Stanley selected Cavium Networks.

    The Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award recognizes individuals
for their exceptional contributions to drive the development, innovation,
growth and long-term opportunities for the fabless semiconductor industry. The
2007 award was presented to Gordon Campbell, executive director, TechFarm
Ventures.

    The Awards Dinner Celebration was made possible through the support of
