TORONTO, Feb. 26 /CNW/ - This Monday marks the launch of the GTA's only
hour-long late-night local news program. Anchored by Global News veteran
Leslie Roberts, News Hour Final will offer more news, extended weather
forecasts with meteorologist Anthony Farnell, as well as more consumer and
special reports by the dedicated Global News team. This exciting new format
gives viewers an in-depth look at the day's headlines, delves further into the
stories that matter most to the GTA and offers key newsmaker opinions, all
with a multimedia approach.
The hour-long newscast allows Global News to offer the most comprehensive
local news available, along with the best of national and international
stories. "News Hour Final will provide the stories that GTA viewers need and
want to see, offering a complete view of the day's issues in a fresh and
interactive way," said Ward Smith, News Director, Global News Ontario.
Roberts, already the trusted co-anchor of the News Hour at 6 pm with Anne
Marie-Mediwake, will use Twitter, live reports and live blogging to give
viewers up-to-the-minute information and analysis in the most modern and
innovative newscast in local news. In addition to a new multimedia platform
