TORONTO, March 27 /CNW/ - Gengrowth, a Canadian renewable energy company,
strongly supports Hydro One's announcement that they are acting upon the
recommendation of the Ontario Power Authority and moving forward with the
process of developing a new transmission line to deliver electricity from the
Bruce region to Ontario electricity consumers.
"The Bruce region is one of the best wind areas in the Province. The
current transmission constraints has prohibited our company and many other
wind energy developers from exploring potential development in the region,"
says David Singer, VP Business Development for Gengrowth. "The proposed 500 kV
transmission line will allow approximately 1,700 MW of new renewable energy to
be developed in the Province. This increase in capacity is an essential step
in enabling Ontario to meet its clean energy targets and renewable energy
