MONTREAL, Nov. 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The campaign thermometer, an indicator
of the progress of Centraide of Greater Montreal's annual fund drive in aid of
the neediest, continues to rise. Already, over $45 million has been raised --
which means that 85% of our $53 million goal has been attained. In order to
maintain the suspense until the announcement of the final result on December
11, Centraide will today discontinue releasing updates on the amount raised.
In the meantime, canvassing for donations continues in over
2,500 workplaces and in the community. Persons wishing to contribute to this
vast movement of solidarity can do so through payroll deduction, by calling
Centraide of Greater Montreal at 514 288-1261, or by visiting
www.centraide-mtl.org and clicking on "To make your donation".
Centraide of Greater Montreal is an independent organization managed by a
board of directors which is representative of the community. It serves the
Island of Montreal, Laval, and communities on the South Shore. Centraide
supports 360 community-based agencies and projects that help over
500,000 vulnerable people. It relies on a network of over 73,000 volunteers,
22,000 of whom work on its annual campaign.
