Four young Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair exhibitors honoured at the Canada-Wide Science Fair



    MONTREAL, May 15 /CNW Telbec/ - The outstanding performance of 17 of the
28 teams comprising the Quebec delegation to the Canada-Wide Science Fair,
held May 9 to 17 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, was acknowledged during the awards
presentation ceremony.
    Young exhibitors representing Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair
won the following awards:

           - Silver Medal and $700 Award - Computing & Information
             Technology- Senior
           - $3000 Scholarship - Ottawa University
           - $2000 Scholarship - UBC Science (Vancouver)
           - $2000 Scholarship - Dalhousie University Faculty of Science
           - $1500 Scholarship - University of Western Ontario
           - Petro-Canada Peer Innovation Award - Senior - 200 $

    Insulin of the Future
    Villa-Maria College

    Prizes:
           - Bronze Medal and $300 Award - Life Sciences - Senior
           - $1000 Scholarship - Ottawa University
           - $1000 Scholarship - University of Western Ontario

    More than 500 young people from every Canadian province and territory
participate to this renowned science competition. The Quebec delegation
included 40 young men and women selected during the Super Expo-sciences Bell,
2009 Quebec Final, held in April. Their participation is made possible thanks
to the financial support of Merck Frosst and the ministère du Développement
économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation. Gesca is also a media partner
of the delegation.
