Four More Countries Turn to Hy-Drive



    Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland Sign On

    TORONTO, April 19 /CNW/ - Hy-Drive Technologies Ltd. (TSX-V: HGS) and
Noravex AS of Norway today announced a marketing and distribution agreement
for four key European markets. To initiate the agreement, Noravex has
submitted a purchase order for 10 of Hy-Drive's Clean Air Operating
Systems(TM) to be shipped over the Atlantic this week.
    Svein Utkilen of Noravex is excited about the market prospects. "The push
against greenhouse gas emissions has been taking place for some time in
Europe. The European Union's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) has been operating
since the start of 2005 and 374 million metric tonnes of carbon dioxide
equivalent were traded in that year. Once Hy-Drive has a greenhouse gas
reduction program in place, we will be able to tap into this potentially
lucrative carbon market." Hy-Drive has recently been formulating the
introduction of a greenhouse gas reduction program.
    "The European Union regulators have become so aggressive on emissions
that there is now a huge opportunity existing for older vehicles" said Tom
Brown, President of Hy-Drive. "The tax regimes for a vehicle meeting Euro III
emission standards can be costly compared to those for vehicles meeting a Euro
IV level. As a result, using Hy-Drive to bring an older vehicle up to Euro IV
emissions standards will have a significant impact on EU operators."
    Hy-Drive's agreement with Noravex includes the sole rights to the
trucking markets in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. Noravex joins the
growing list of Hy-Drive distributors including IntraLink and Mining
Technologies International in North America, Sparta in the Asia-Pacific
region, TransFuel Ltd. in the United Kingdom and HreinOrka in Iceland.
