MONTREAL, Sept. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - The 11th Bombardier Recreational
Products Inc. (BRP) President's Trek has raised a record amount of $153,000 in
2007, compared with $100,000 in 2006. This sporting event took place on
September 17, 2007.
Under the patronage of Mr. José Boisjoli, President and CEO of BRP, the
goal of the President's Trek is to provide BRP's partners with the opportunity
to contribute to a very important cause by participating in a unique and
exciting activity. This year, participants had the privilege of driving the
BRP's latest RV, the new roadster Can-Am Spyder.
Jean Tremblay, President of the Foundation for Research into Children's
Diseases, congratulated BRP on the great success of the trek, which started at
BRP's Valcourt facilities. "The money raised by BRP and its partners will
contribute to supporting pediatric research in four hospital in Quebec, namely
the Montreal Children's Hospital, the CHU Sainte-Justine, the Centre
hospitalier universitaire de Québec and the Centre hospitalier universitaire
de Sherbrooke," stated Mr. Tremblay.
The amount raised will be remitted during the Foundation's Telethon for
research into children's diseases, which will take place on December 1 and 2,
on TQS throughout Quebec and on CTV Montreal.
Since its first Telethon in 1977, the Foundation has become the leading
non-government funding organization for pediatric research in Quebec and has
already distributed $53,114,000 to foster research into children's diseases.
