Former Governor of the Bank of Canada joins Ontario Economic Summit in leadership role



    TORONTO, June 2 /CNW/ - David Dodge, former Governor of the Bank of
Canada, has joined the Ontario Economic Summit as one of two Co-Chairs for the
5th annual summit which will be held September 30th - October 2nd, 2008 in
Niagara-on-the-Lake.
    The Ontario Economic Summit (OES) focuses the energy of business,
academia, labour, government and the non-profit sector in a collective effort
to build the economic prosperity of the province. The OES is an initiative of
the Ontario Chamber of Commerce.
    "We are very fortunate to welcome to the OES such a preeminent authority
on global economic trends and Canada's economic foundations," says Len
Crispino, President & CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. "OES
participants have benefited from David Dodge's expertise in the past during
his participation as former Governor of the Bank of Canada, and I'm sure his
continued insight and vision will further enhance the initiative as he assumes
the role of Co-Chair."
    Dodge was recently named Chancellor of Queen's University, effective July
1,2008. In addition to his seven year term as Governor of the Bank of Canada,
Dodge has had a very distinguished academic and public service career. is His

Deputy with the Department of Finance, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy
Minister of Health.
    David Dodge will be joining founding Co-Chair, Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of
Linamar Corporation.
