Five Face Drug Trafficking Charges



    THUNDER BAY, ON, April 19 /CNW/ - On Monday April 16th and Tuesday April
17th, 2007, the Thunder Bay Tri-Force Drug Unit, consisting of officers from
the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Thunder Bay City Police Service, Kenora
City Police Service, Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service and the Thunder Bay Royal
Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Detachment, assisted by both the Kenora and
Fort Frances OPP and the RCMP in British Columbia and Alberta arrested
numerous suspects involved in the trafficking of Marijuana and Ecstasy in the
Rainy River area.
    The arrests were the culmination of a long term operation which
concentrated on the illegal export of drugs and money from Canada to the
United States through the Rainy River Region of Northwestern Ontario.
    Four men and one woman have been charged with multiple counts of
Conspiracy to Traffic in a Controlled Substance, Trafficking in a Controlled
Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance
along with firearms and property offences. They will be appearing in Kenora
Provincial Court.

    Charged with various drug related offences are:

    Rodney GODBOUT of Emo, ON
    Donald SCHNEIDER of Sioux Narrows, ON
    Edna GREGOIRE of Emo, ON
    Andrew WAKELING of Lillooet, BC
    Isaak GEISBRECHT of Mission, BC

    Police are continuing to pursue this investigation and further arrests
are pending.
