TORONTO, June 29, 2009 /CNW/ - This morning at Milton GO Station, GO
Transit officially marked the first day of service for two new train trips on
the Milton line with a customer appreciation event and official launch
Starting today, Milton line customers will be able to take a new weekday
eastbound morning train, leaving Milton GO Station at 8:08 a.m., and making
all stops to Union Station, and a new weekday westbound afternoon train,
departing Union Station at 5:40 p.m., and making all stops to Milton GO
Participating in the event were Gordon Krantz, Mayor of Milton; Hazel
McCallion, Mayor of Mississauga; Rob MacIsaac, Chairman of Metrolinx; and Greg
Percy, GO Transit's Vice President of Operations.
"Anytime we can add new GO service, there are direct benefits for
customers," said Greg Percy. "These new trains provide extra travel options
and more seating for this already busy corridor."
The Milton line connects with Milton, Mississauga, and Toronto and is the
third busiest line in the GO Transit network.
