Firesteel Announces Further Strong Copper and Gold Mineralization at its Copper Creek Property

    Trading Symbol: FTR- TSX: V

VANCOUVER, Sept. 28 /CNW/ - Firesteel Resources Inc. is pleased to
announce that assay results from the third phase of its 2007 diamond drilling
program indicate further strong copper and gold mineralization at its Copper
Creek Project. Phase three of the program consisted of drilling an additional
17 meters in Drill Hole No. 2007-1 and an additional 263 meters in Drill Hole
No. 2007-4. This project is located approximately 60 km north of Telegraph
Creek in north western B.C. Firesteel has now drilled 25 holes into this
property, four of which are being drilled in its 2007 diamond drilling
program. Drilling to date provides further indications of an ore body in this
area and the Company will allocate significant resources to it on a priority
basis to advance its knowledge of the target.

Drill Hole No. 2007-1 encountered strong mineralization of 0.59% copper
and 0.47 g/tonne gold over a 17 meter interval to total depth of 124 meters
for the hole. This follows Phase 2 results which, for the adjacent up hole 15
meter interval, had assayed in at 0.73% copper and 0.51 g/tonne gold. This
higher grade follows results which vary from 0.22% to 0.28% copper and 0.11 to
0.21 g/tonne gold for the first 92 meter interval of this hole.

    Drill Hole No. 2007-4:
Drill Hole No. 2007-4 achieved the greatest depth for the 2007 drilling
program bottoming out at 293 meters. The results of this drilling program,
including Phase 2 results, are shown in the following table:

As shown in the above table, Phase 2 results had also indicated strong
mineralization to the 266 meter level at 0.55% copper and 0.23 g/tonne gold
for a thick 76 meter interval. Grades then fell back to average levels for the
last 27 meter interval.
Upon releasing this information, President and CEO Walter Wakula said,
"These strong mineralization results in conjunction with earlier drilling on
the Copper Creek property represent an important milestone for this project
suggesting access to mineralization in this property and enhancement of our
vision for its development. This will also enable Firesteel to continue fine
tuning its resource model for this area of British Columbia."

Firesteel is a junior exploration company which explores for and develops
quality precious and base metal prospects in British Columbia, the NWT and
Mexico and oil sands properties in Alberta. The company has been actively
drilling and trenching on its Copper Creek property in northern British
Columbia with excellent results. Firesteel has also entered the oil sands
business with the acquisition of leases in the Peace River area of northern
Alberta through its Blacksteel Oil Sands subsidiary.
