Finally, a painless injection treatment for wrinkles: evolution or revolution?

    MONTREAL, Oct. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada is currently experiencing a
revolution in the field of injection treatment for wrinkles - thanks to the
launch of Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra Plus with Lidocaine, the only line of
products made with hyaluronic acid and containing an anesthetic that provides
a pain-free experience for the patient.
According to a recent study, more than 32% of people are reluctant to
consider injection treatments for wrinkles due to the pain involved. "The
arrival of Juvéderm with Lidocaine on the market will revolutionize the
industry and provide access to treatments for men and women who were afraid to
suffer pain to improve their appearance. The rejuvenation of lips and
reduction of wrinkles around the mouth, for example, can take from 15 to
20 minutes over a lunch hour and patients can immediately return to work
without experiencing any discomfort. Results are instantly beautiful and
natural," said Dr. Jean-François Tremblay, Dermatologist and Medical Director
at the MédIME clinic in Montreal, the first clinic in Canada to offer Juvéderm
with Lidocaine.
In fact, results from recent studies presented at the last Anti-Aging
World Congress in Paris showed that 95% of patients claimed to have felt much
more comfortable when having injections of Juvéderm with Lidocaine. Also of
note, 61% of physicians and 90% of patients claimed better results with this
line of products.
This line of products will have a major impact on a significant number of
people, considering that global sales in the industry are expected to reach
more than US$1.1 billion by 2010.
Recently approved by Health Canada, Juvéderm Ultra and Ultra Plus with
Lidocaine are the only products with hyaluronic acid that are developed with
the patented HYLACROSS gel technology and contain the anesthetic Lidocaine.
The latest versions of these products are malleable gels, easily injected
under the skin, without pain, creating a natural texture and appearance.

Dr. Jean-François Tremblay is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians
of Canada (dermatology), a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery,
a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American
College of Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology.

The MédIME clinic, located at the Médiclub du Sanctuaire in Montreal,
bridges the gap between medicine and esthetics. Services provided by the
clinic include dermatology, plastic surgery, body care, esthetics, and a
personalized sports training program, all under one roof.
