– Fibre 1* Cheesecake Bars Launch with Cake Walk on July 30th, National Cheesecake Day –
TORONTO, July 28, 2016 /CNW/ - Just in time for National Cheesecake Day, Canadians will be able to have their cake and eat it too. Just launched, new Fibre 1* Cheesecake Bars are both delicious, and serve as a healthier-for-you dessert alternative. At only 150 calories, and with the added benefit of fibre, these bars allow you to have what you crave. Fibre 1* Cheesecake Bars are available in Key Lime and Chocolate flavours.
Fibre 1* Cheesecake Bars are available at major grocery stores, in a five-count box for the suggested retail price of $3.49. Visit the 'Life Made Delicious' website for recipes and more information on the new bars.
"For many people cheesecake is the gold-standard of desserts," said Jason Doolan, Director of Marketing, General Mills Canada. "The new line of Fibre 1 Cheesecake Bars allow you to savour that same rich cheesecake taste, but in a healthier-for-you serving. We are excited to help Canadians have what they crave."
The origins of cheesecake date back to ancient Greece where the dessert was considered to be an excellent source of energy – so much in fact, that this now-famed dessert was even served to competing athletes in the very first Olympic game in 776 B.C.
As a nod to its history, Fibre 1* Cheesecake Bars will take to Toronto's streets on Saturday, July 30 with a Cake Walk. As part of the snack's launch program, an experiential sampling activation will see giant cheesecake bar mascots participating in the animated sport of race walking. Following the very technical steps of race walking, the bars will showcase the art of straight-leg stepping and hip rolling – allowing them just the right posture to wiggle their way around town.
