Greenbelt Foundation proud to sponsor first Green Living Show

TORONTO, April 26 /CNW/ - Looking to experience the great outdoors,
without having to leave town? Why not visit the "Discover Ontario's Greenbelt"
booth at this weekend's Green Living Show? Beautiful and bountiful, the
Ontario Greenbelt is environmentally diverse, critical to the vitality and
viability of the entire region, and to the quality of life of all Ontarians!
"The Green Living Show will showcase some of the boldest and most
innovative solutions to our global environmental challenges," says Burkhard
Mausberg, President of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation. "From the
Greenbelt to the Green Living Show, we are proud to be a part of a terrific
event showcasing green living."
Following the themes of "Walk", "Taste", "Look" and "Explore", the
Greenbelt booth - No.1239 in the Direct Energy Centre at Exhibition Place -
will feature a selection of local organizations with loads of information to
help you and the whole family get the most enjoyment out of "Our living
countryside"...

    - WALK the Greenbelt with the Oak Ridges Trail Association - The trail
starts near Palgrave in the west and continues to the town of Gores
Landing on Rice Lake in the east.

    - TASTE local food and drink with the Grape Growers of Ontario - who
can tell you all about the great grapes of the Greenbelt, and the
fine wines, juices and other healthy products they make. Meet the
folks from Local Flavour Plus, an organization that brings farmers
and consumers together to share in the benefits of environmentally
and socially responsible local food production.

    - LOOK at the work of the Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy to preserve
the landscape, ecology and wildlife of the Greenbelt's Niagara
Escarpment - home to the most ancient and least disturbed forest
ecosystem east of the Rocky Mountains.

    - EXPLORE the southern region of the Greenbelt with the Niagara
Peninsula Conservation Authority. Spectacular waterfalls, walking
trails, campgrounds, natural and built historical sites, sandy
beaches and picnic areas... these are just a few gems waiting for you
        to discover and enjoy!

There's so much to see and do in the Greenbelt. So drop by the "Discover
Ontario's Greenbelt" booth at the Green Living Show for a bushel full of ideas
for summertime and year 'round fun for the whole family!
