McGuinty Government Helping Ontario Businesses Compete In Global Markets
OTTAWA, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - Ontario wins when the province's companies
succeed in the global economy. This is the message Minister of Small Business
and Entrepreneurship Harinder Takhar brought to members of the province's
business community today.
Speaking at Wisdom Exchange in Ottawa, Takhar highlighted the importance
of Ontario's companies remaining competitive on the world stage.
"The McGuinty government is helping Ontario's small and medium sized
enterprises grow to the next level of success," said Takhar. "That means
helping companies connect to the global economy and solidifying Ontario's
reputation as an international leader."
How Ontario is helping businesses compete in global markets:
- Government led trade missions to encourage cooperation between
companies in Ontario and other parts of the world including China,
India, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates
- Business Advisory Services provided by the government to help
companies expand into global markets
- Ontario International Marketing Centres in some of the world's
leading markets including Tokyo, Beijing and Mexico City.
Now in its 14th season, Wisdom Exchange brings together the leaders of
Ontario's top growth firms to discuss the challenges of managing
high-performance companies. "Strategies for growth and innovation" was the
theme of this year's event.
Speakers include: Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar Corporation and leading
voice in the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America and Larry
Keeley, President of Doblin Inc., and Professor of Innovation and Strategy at
the Institute of Design in Chicago.
