TORONTO, March 30 /CNW/ - What does one wear on a red carpet in the
middle of the prairies on the first day of April? Find out on eTalk at the
JUNOS, the official red carpet arrivals special for Canada's Music Awards and
Canada's most-watched red carpet special, airing Sunday, April 1 on CTV.
Hosted by Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim, see it first on broadband when a
one-hour eTalk at the JUNOS special airs live beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET on The
CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca and MTV.ca. A half-hour eTalk at the JUNOS
airs on CTV at 6:30 p.m. ET leading into the live broadcast of The 2007 JUNO
Awards on CTV at 7 p.m. ET (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times).
As excitement builds for this Sunday's JUNO Awards broadcast on CTV,
eTalk's production crew continues construction on the 225 feet long red carpet
outside Saskatoon's Credit Union Centre. Come Sunday, the carpet will be
littered with a mix of presenters, performers, nom inees, dignitaries and VIPS
and lined with hundreds of screaming fans.
Among the musical luminaries expected to descend upon the eTalk red
carpet are host Nelly Furtado, Gregory Charles, Nickelback, Jim Cuddy, Billy
Talent, Hedley, Three Days Grace, Alexisonfire, City and Colour, Eva Avila,
Patrick Watson, Tomi Swick, Mobile, DJ Champion, Sloan, Melissa O'Neil,
George, Keshia Chanté, Canadian Idol's four-member judging panel, Sam Roberts
and Colin James, among others.
In addition to being TV's Number 1 supporter of Canada's music industry,
eTalk has pioneered the Canadian red carpet special, building Canada's star
system by adding glamour and star power to The JUNO Awards since CTV acquired
broadcast rights to Canada's Music Awards in 2001.

The impressive event exceeds expectations every year, and this year's red
carpet in Saskatoon is no exception:
- Over 600 screaming fans are expected - from Saskatchewan, Alberta,
- 160 members of the media from around North America will line the
carpet including Reuters and United Press International.
- 75 crew members work around the clock for three days straight to get
the red carpet show set up in time.
- The red carpet is built in three days and torn down in a matter of
- Two trucks (an 18-wheeler and a five-tonne truck) left Toronto last
week to make the trip to Saskatoon. The trucks hold everything eTalk
needs to produce a red carpet show, including set design elements,
lighting and other electronic equipment.
- The red carpet is 225 feet long (longer than a Boeing 777-200!) and
totals 800 square feet of red carpet.
- There will be six eTalk cameras in total on the red carpet
eTalk at the JUNOS will be available to viewers around the world when it
is broadcast live on The CTV Broadband Network at CTV.ca and MTV.ca. During
commercial breaks, MTV Live hosts Aliya-Jasmine Sovani and Johnny Hockin will
interview celebrities and provide commentary from the red carpet. Normally
only accessible to Canadians, both broadband channels are opening up to fans
around the world. For anyone who misses the show, eTalk at the JUNOS will be
available on demand for an entire week at CTV.ca and MTV.ca.
