TORONTO, Jan. 19 /CNW/ - Global's Entertainment Tonight Canada revealed this evening that Matte Babel will make his official debut as
the new Hollywood Correspondent for Canada's leading entertainment news program beginning February 1st.
"I'm truly honoured to be joining the ET Canada team and to be a part of an entertainment brand that is so well
respected and recognized worldwide," said Matte Babel. "I'm looking forward to working alongside our American counterparts in
LA and continuing to bring Canadians the best in entertainment news."
A well-known Canadian television personality, Matte's on-air experience
has ranged from his days as a MuchMusic VJ to his most recent
contributions as a reporter for CP24. His long list of interviews with
A-list celebrities including Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Sean 'Diddy'
Combs, Pink, James Blunt and many more proves Matte has the passion for
entertainment that make him a natural fit for his new role at ET Canada. Wasting no time at all, Matte will join Cheryl Hickey and Rick
Campanelli for music's biggest night, reporting alongside the co-hosts
on the red carpet for the 2011 GRAMMY® Awards.
"We're thrilled to be adding to what is already the best entertainment
news team on Canadian television," said Tamara Simoneau, Senior Executive Producer, ET Canada. "Matte comes to ET Canada with ample red carpet experience and hundreds of celebrity interviews
under his belt. We know he will complement our Toronto, Vancouver and
Montreal-based team perfectly from his new LA headquarters."
ET Canada airs weeknights at 7:30pm ET/PT, following Entertainment Tonight at 7pm ET/PT on Global. Regular show highlights and behind the scenes
