TORONTO, Jan. 29 /CNW/ - Lights, camera, action... at the start of the
New Year, ET Canada kicked off its nationwide contest "Cheryl's Celebrity
Makeover" - calling on viewers to nominate the leading lady in their life for
the full star treatment with Host Cheryl Hickey. The submissions for potential
candidates have been remarkable, and fans continue to send in their contest
entries by logging onto www.ETCanada.com.
"Cheryl is used to rubbing shoulders with the world's biggest stars but
she's so excited to get out into Canada's communities and meet these
inspirational women," said Tamara Simoneau, Senior Executive Producer, ET
Canada. "Cheryl's huge heart and down-to-earth style make her the perfect
person to steer this exciting new segment."
On Monday, February 2 - 7pm ET/ 7:30pm PT, the first of 12 special
monthly instalments of "Cheryl's Celebrity Makeover" is revealed during the ET
Canada broadcast as Cheryl accompanies the first winner for her A-list star
treatment. From one-on-one hair and makeup sessions to a shopping trip with a
personal stylist, the makeover is topped off with a professional photo shoot.
"This is a feel-good initiative, and everyone deserves a little TLC with
a 'G' (glamour)," said Cheryl Hickey, Host, ET Canada. "We've received so many
great submissions to date and it's difficult to choose, but I'm looking
forward to sharing this celebrity experience with each of our winners."
The inaugural segment features a new, young mother from Toronto, whose
loving husband sent in his heartfelt application letter describing her courage
and strength during the precarious first weeks of their daughter's life who
was born prematurely.
