Escarpment Blues Festival's "Green" approach draws recognition from Live Earth

MILTON, ON, June 29 /CNW/ - In addition to its premier lineup of
international Blues stars and legends, the "green" emphasis of the Escarpment
Blues Festival (July 13 - 15) has gained the festival the status of "Friend of
Live Earth."
Live Earth, the 7-continent extravaganza co-chaired by former US Vice
President Al Gore and to be held a week previous (07/07/07) to the Escarpment
Blues Festival, is dedicated to drawing attention to worldwide environmental
issues. Live Earth recognized the carbon-neutral approach and environmental
education components of Escarpment Blues by designating the event as an
official Friend of Live Earth.
The Escarpment Blues Festival showcases today's Blues stars alongside
legends from the '40s, '50s and '60s. Throughout the weekend, fans will enjoy
such luminaries as Jeff Healy, David Wilcox, Alberta Adams, Sonny Rhodes, Dave
Mason, Ten Years After and Danny Marks. Also featured will be Doc Mclean,
Walter Trout, James Anthony, Carlos del Juno, Savoy Brown, Watermelon Slim and
Colin James.
Milton's Country Heritage Park, less than a half-hour west of Toronto,
provides a magnificent setting for the first annual Escarpment Blues Festival,
and invites a celebration of the stunning environment surrounding the
festival. In addition to the performers, there will be exhibits and
demonstrations of products, services and technology that can help improve our
relationship with -- and appreciation of -- our environment. Also included
with admission to the festival are all the onsite amenities of Country
Heritage park, including the antique farming equipment and buildings, wagon
rides, guitar workshops and many other family activities.
This festival is also working with Tree Canada to be the first Carbon
Neutral Blues Festival in Ontario.
