TORONTO, April 23 /CNW/ - Environics Communications
(www.environicspr.com) has placed fourth on the annual list of Canadian
Business magazine's "Canada's 50 Best Workplaces for 2007."
"Placing number four on this list of 50 is a great honour and it is made
even better by the employee survey approach to selection. We strive to make
Environics a great place to work in every business decision taken, and by
listening and responding to ideas, we're committed to maintaining the best and
improving the rest," said Bruce MacLellan, President of Environics
Notable programs at Environics include annual staff profit sharing,
company-paid trips on key anniversary dates, an annual company retreat,
generous professional development funding and a fun, friendly culture.
This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled for Canadian
Business magazine by Great Place to Work(R) Institute Canada. The competition
process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a
57-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with
their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of
the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture,
including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. Together, they provide
crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place
to work(R): credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. More than
20,000 employees participated in the 2007 "Best Workplaces in Canada" survey.
The survey is the same as used to create Fortune magazine's 100 Best
Employers list in the United States. Environics' total average score ranked
ahead of the total average score of those 100 companies for 2007.
"We're honoured to be in the company of such great organizations and
extend thanks to Canadian Business for running this program. But we're also
honoured to be in the company of such great colleagues. People at Environics
are smart, caring and professional and they make coming to work a real
pleasure," added MacLellan.
