RED DEER, AB, Sept. 25 /CNW/ - This Friday at Red Deer's Glendale Middle
School, Peter Hunt, ENMAX Corporation's Vice President Public Affairs, and
members of the ENMAX Energy team will be on hand to dish out 'Breakfast for
Learning' to local area school children.
"I am looking forward to serving some of the children benefiting from the

In a meeting with Premier Ed Stelmach earlier this year, Gary Holden,
ENMAX Energy's CEO, announced that ENMAX Energy had chosen to support
Breakfast for Learning (BFL), an Alberta's Promise agency. Alberta's Promise
fosters creative partnerships between caring corporations, valuable community
organizations and municipalities to benefit children and youth.
During a two-week period, ENMAX Energy donated $50 to BFL for every
EasyMax(R) sign-up. The results were phenomenal. The campaign raised a total
of $98,700 thanks to nearly 2,000 EasyMax residential sign-ups.
The Alberta Chapter of Breakfast for Learning provides nutritious snacks
to children in 360 programs across the province to ensure they receive the
nourishment they need to learn and grow. Dollars from the ENMAX Energy
campaign are earmarked for the southern Alberta's 'Fruit and Vegetable'
program with the balance going to grants for northern Alberta.
"Alberta has to be one of the best places on earth right now. But this
province isn't going to achieve its potential unless its people can also
achieve their potential," concludes Hunt. "Organizations like Breakfast for
Learning help change lives and help change the province and I'm really pleased
that we're a part of it."
BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING (BFL) Alberta is part of a national non-profit
organization whose mission is to ensure every child attending school in Canada
is well-nourished and ready to learn. Since 1992, BFL Alberta has supported
more than 360 school breakfast, lunch and snack programs in the province
benefiting 31,100 children.
