CALGARY, June 26 /CNW/ - International discussions around the future of
the oil and gas industry are essential as stakeholders work to build a
sustainable future, Ernst & Young says.
The professional services firm will engage in exactly that at this week's
World Petroleum Congress. The forum runs from June 29 to July 3, and Ernst &
Young's Canadian energy industry leader Barry Munro will be there.
"With oil and gas, and the energy sector as a whole, we're facing a
wealth of challenges and opportunities," Munro said. "How will we work
together to build the future of this industry? What are the environmental
risks we need to address right now? How will oil prices affect the wider
economy? These are the questions we need to be asking ourselves and each
other. This congress is a tremendous opportunity to learn from, and grow with,
our peers from around the world."
Munro says the congress features a wide-ranging program of workshops,
seminars and networking events. "This is a chance for governments, companies
and stakeholders to come together and lay the path for the future of this
industry. These discussions are crucial to our future - and I'm proud to be a
part of this forum."
Munro, who is also Managing Partner of Ernst & Young's Calgary office,
will be available before, during and after the congress to discuss the hottest
oil and gas issues today, and their business impacts both in Canada and around
