film and entertainment company, announces an all out effort to help FEED NOVA
SCOTIA replenish its shelves across the province.
On Saturday October 18th at 2:00pm, ten Empire Theatres' locations across
Nova Scotia will host screenings of select family films to help FEED NOVA
SCOTIA fill the shelves!
"During this time of Thanksgiving, we are thrilled to be able to help
Dianne Swinemar and her incredible staff and volunteers across the province
stock their shelves at this crucial time of year." says Dean Leland - Empire
Theatres' Vice President of Media and Studio Relations.
"We want to thank Empire Theatres for organizing this great initiative,"
says FEED NOVA SCOTIA Executive Director Dianne Swinemar. "We encourage the
community to take advantage of this invitation, extended by Empire Theatres,
to view a great movie and at the same time take the opportunity to donate to
help families in need."
On Saturday October 18th at 2pm, Empire Theatres will host screenings of

Admission is non-perishable food items that will go directly to FEED NOVA
SCOTIA member agencies in each market. Items most needed include canned goods
such as fish, meat, vegetables, baked beans, soup, stews, pasta, cereal and
In addition, Empire Theatres will provide a complimentary regular popcorn
for each admission.
"We encourage people to arrive early as seating is limited and on a first
come, first served basis in each location. With the generous donations from
movie-goers, we hope to fill vans and trucks full of donations in each market
so that we may help to fill those empty shelves" says Leland. "Nova Scotians
are among the most generous in the country when reaching out to those in need.
We expect people will fully embrace this initiative" he continues.
