KITCHENER, ON, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - A high-risk fugitive was arrested on
Queen Street in downtown Kitchener on Tuesday September 18 by members of the
Immigration Task Force. The subject initially provided false identification in
an effort to elude arrest, however his true identity was confirmed and he was
arrested by members of the RCMP.
Kirk Patrick MONCRIEFFE (38), a citizen of Jamaica was arrested on a
Canada wide Immigration warrant.
MONCRIEFFE was also being sought by the RCMP Toronto Airport Detachment
Federal Enforcement Section after failing to appear at a January 2006 court
appearance. MONCRIEFFE is facing sentencing for Importing Cocaine into Canada
with an estimated street value of $141,600. MONCRIEFFE has also been charged
for Failure to Attend Court and Obstruct Justice, and is wanted by the Toronto
Police Service for various other criminal offences.
The ITF is composed of members from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police,
Canada Border Service Agency and Provincial ROPE members from the Ontario
Provincial Police and Toronto Police Service.
