One-of-a-kind EDS Byron Nelson Championship-Themed Motorcycle and Matching
Autographed Custom Pinball Machine to be Auctioned to Benefit Children's
PLANO, Texas, April 24 /CNW/ -- EDS, title sponsor of the EDS Byron
Nelson Championship, helps Byron Nelson's work for the kids continue by
hosting an online auction featuring two, one-of-a-kind designed items to
benefit Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, the children's charity
associated with the tournament.
From April 25 through May 2, golf and motorcycle enthusiasts alike can
bid on a custom-designed EDS Byron Nelson Championship-themed motorcycle,
built by the world-famous Teutuls -- Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey -- the
creative forces behind Orange County Choppers (OCC) and stars of the
international hit television show, "American Chopper." As part of the two
television episodes featuring the EDS Byron Nelson Championship chopper, the
Teutuls will unveil the motorcycles at the number one tee box at the TPC Four
Seasons Resort Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, April 25, at 11:30 a.m. CDT.
In addition to the motorcycle auction, EDS will auction a customized
Ultimate Golf Ball Frenzy pinball machine, which has an OCC theme and will be
autographed by the Teutuls and PGA TOUR players participating in the 2007 EDS
Byron Nelson Championship.
EDS will donate all proceeds from the online auctions to Salesmanship
Club Youth and Family Centers.
Last year, 99 tour players signed a pinball machine auctioned by EDS,
which raised $35,000 for the tournament's charity beneficiary, Salesmanship
Club Youth and Family Centers.
"EDS is committed to finding new ways to make our sponsorship more
meaningful and to support the important work of Salesmanship Club Youth and
Family Centers and the families they serve," said Ron Rittenmeyer, president
and chief operating officer of EDS. "The proceeds from the online auctions
will help the EDS Byron Nelson Championship reach its $100 million milestone
in charitable giving, more than any other event on the PGA TOUR."
The auctions go live Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. CDT and close
Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. CDT. For more information, or to place a bid on
these unique auction items, visit http://www.eds.com/auction.
