OTTAWA, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Export Development Canada (EDC) presented the Student of the Year Award to Rachel Wisdom, the top performer in this year's Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) program.
"EDC continually looks for ways to help improve Canada's trade skills and education, and FITT has been a key partner in developing a generation that has trade in its DNA," said Tom Sloan, Vice President of Small Business and Commercial Markets, EDC, who presented the award during FITT's National Conference in Ottawa.
"Yesterday, we added Rachel Wisdom to the young leaders of Canadian trade, and we hope that she will go on to have a career that positively impacts Canada's trade and foreign investment."
Ms. Wisdom, originally from Surrey, B.C., completed the FITTskills program through Vancouver Career College and received her Diploma of International Trade from FITT.
The award is open to students attending an educational partner institution that delivers the FITTskills program and whose students complete all eight of the FITTskills national examinations. The award is given to a student who has attained the highest overall grade point average after having completed all 8 FITTskills courses, the last of which would have been completed during the specific calendar year. The award recipient is determined by FITT.
