TORONTO, Sept. 16 /CNW/ - Professional painters and DIYers have a new
greener option when it comes to paint projects, thanks to a Canadian company,
Dynamic Paint Products. The company has introduced the world's first
environmentally-friendly paint roller. Appropriately dubbed the
Enviro-Roller(TM), this professional tool and DIY necessity is a wiser choice
as it is made from a special polyester filament yarn gleaned from 100 per cent
post-consumer plastic bottles. Fittingly, the roller's plastic core is also
100 per cent recycled.
The roller is just one product in the company's line of
Enviro-Paintware(TM) that includes a uniquely designed Enviro-Brush(TM) that
aims to reduce the amount of paint brushes ending up in landfill. Also
featured are special paint trays made from recycled plastic that can be
recycled themselves, as well as paint tray liners that are made wholly from
recycled P.E.T., giving new life to recycled pop and water bottles. Paint
pails and full Enviro-Kits(TM) that cover off all the painting essentials
round out the line.
"We wanted to develop good quality Paintware(R) products that would
address the needs of the green-minded consumer without sacrificing
performance," says James Mumby, President, Dynamic Paint Products. "Our
complete Enviro-Paintware line is a first and we are proud to say that the
Enviro-Roller is manufactured here in Mississauga. Many consumers are
educating themselves about what's out there when it comes to painting.
Companies are now offering low VOC paints and we are providing the
complementary green tools needed for application. It is a winning combination
that makes for a greener environment."
The Enviro-Brush features a unique design with a brush head that can be
removed from the handle for easier cleaning. This prompts consumers to reuse
the brush for another project rather than discarding it in frustration during
cleaning. When the brush head ultimately reaches its endlife, the handle is
retained and a new brush head can be easily snapped on. The Enviro-Brush comes
in various sizes in both Do It Yourself and Pro versions.
Contractors are already very responsive to the brushes which are suitable
for all types of paints. One professional painting contractor in Vancouver,
Eco-Painter, is looking at exclusively using Dynamic's Enviro-Paintware. The
company bills itself as an all-green painting company and is enjoying good
success in the market despite being a young company. According to Kristin
Fisher, co-owner of Eco-Painter, they use Dynamic's tray liners, as well as
the Enviro-Roller and Enviro-Brush.
"What people don't realize when planning to paint is that they can choose
to go all green at no extra cost, " says Fisher. "It is such a misconception
that it will cost more. In fact, the green products are generally less
expensive and the quality is a lot better. So if someone wants to paint and
wants to contribute to sustainability of the planet, they should go green
because then everybody wins and everybody feels good."
Enviro-Paintware products are available at major and independent
retailers of hardware, paint, and decorating items. Manufacturer's Suggested
Retail Price (MSRP) for the Enviro-Roller begins at $3.79, while the
Enviro-Brush starts at $5.99. One hundred per cent recycled full-size trays
have an MSRP of $2.99, while a complete full size Enviro-Kit is at $10.99.
Dynamic Paint Products (Dynamic) is Canada's largest specialty
manufacturer and distributor of Paintware(R), supplying retailers with
thousands of products, including over 1500 Dynamic(R) products including paint
