TORONTO, May 15 /CNW/ - The Association of Early Childhood Educators
Ontario (AECEO) will hold its 59th Annual Provincial Conference from May
21-23, 2009. The three-day event will bring together leaders in the field of
Early Childhood Education to discuss the most important issues facing early
learning and care.
"This year's conference is particularly important," says Eduarda Sousa,
executive director of the AECEO. "A great dialogue will take place around full
day early learning for four and five-year-olds, which has been promised by
Premier McGuinty. This issue is on the minds of many people and affects
multiple sectors. Early Childhood Educators have a very valuable set of skills
to offer to this new program," she says.
"As we prepare for full day early learning, we are also transitioning
into what is now a self regulated profession. This year's conference will give
Early Childhood Educators the tools they need to move forward in our evolving
profession," Sousa added.
The conference is expected to draw up to 300 delegates and presenters
from across the province, and includes the AECEO's Annual General Meeting.
Opening ceremonies will commence at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, followed
by a welcome reception. Media are invited to attend.
