MONTREAL, March 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Two concerned, Canadian Moms take the
fight against childhood obesity into their own hands by producing an
award-winning DVD on nutrition.
A House of Commons Committee report made public this week revealed that,
"Canadian children are overweight and for the first time the country's younger
generations are expected to live shorter lives than their parents because of
Yummy In My Tummy: Healthy Eating Habits for Life, a comprehensive DVD on
baby and toddler nutrition was produced by Lianne Castelino and Andrea Howick
to offer parents support and practical advice.
"Educating parents on how to feed a baby from its first meal is the key
to helping curb the obesity epidemic", says Howick. "The way solid foods are
introduced and the types of foods babies and young children eat are important
in shaping a child's eating habits for life. Most parents don't realize how
much this first step can dictate their child's future health and nutrition."
"Parents need help and practical advice to allow them to make healthy
choices for their families. That's what our DVD provides, " says Castelino.
Yummy In My Tummy! features medical and nutritional advice from two
leading Canadian experts.
Earlier this month, Yummy In My Tummy won a second major parenting award
- a gold seal from NAPPA, the most comprehensive awards program for Children's
Products and Parenting Resources in the United States.
Yummy in my Tummy is also recipient of the National Parenting Center's
Seal of Approval.
It is the second title for The Liandrea Company which has also produced
