Whirlpool(R) Home Appliances auctions rooms to raise money for Habitat
for Humanity Canada
TORONTO, April 16 /CNW/ - Whirlpool(R) Home Appliances opened the bidding
today on three "Dream Laundry Rooms", with all auction proceeds to benefit
Habitat for Humanity Canada.
Whirlpool(R) Home Appliances commissioned three leading Canadian design
firms - blazysgerard, BiglarKinyan Design Partnership and Jxo Interiors - to
create their vision of the "Dream Laundry Room", equipping them with a $10,000
budget, 275 square feet of space and their latest laundry offerings: the new
Whirlpool(R) Duet(R) laundry pair and the Whirlpool(R) Laundry "123(TM)"
Custom Laundry Options.
"At Whirlpool(R) Home Appliances, we know that today's laundry room is
used for so much more than just washing and drying clothes - it's the hub of a
lot of household activity," says Warrington Ellacott, Senior Marketing
Manager, Whirlpool Canada. "We hope the Dream Laundry Rooms inspire Canadians
to reimagine and reinvent their own laundry space. No matter what kind of
laundry room you have, there are simple and creative ways to make the space
work for you."
The rooms are being displayed at the National Home Show in Toronto from
April 13 to April 22, 2007. Canadians across the country can also visit
www.whirlpool.ca/dreamlaundry before June 15, 2007 to see profiles on all
three of the rooms.
Bids on the rooms are also made online at www.whirlpool.ca/dreamlaundry.
The starting bid for each room is $500.00. Whirlpool Canada will donate all
auction proceeds to Habitat for Humanity Canada.
"We're pleased to be able to support Habitat for Humanity Canada through
our Dream Laundry Rooms auction," explains Ellacott. "It's a natural extension
of our longstanding partnership. We're so proud to be able to build houses and
build hope alongside this great organization." Whirlpool Canada provides a
refrigerator and a range for every house built by Habitat for Humanity in
