    STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 12 /CNW/ -- Direct Energy, one of the largest

that it is now supplying electricity to residential and small business
customers in the Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating service
territories. Since 2004, Direct Energy has been providing innovative electric

customers in Connecticut.

month fixed product, which at five percent below the utility price, will
provide consumers with peace of mind and predictability in a volatile energy

providing free compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) kits to its first 5,000
residential and small commercial customers. The lifetime value of four CFLs
equals more than $200 in savings in energy costs.

by the Retail Energy Supply Association, nine out of 10 registered voters in
Connecticut want the ability to choose their electric supplier, and seven in
10 consider competition to be the best way to deliver lower energy costs.
