List of Recipients Continues to Grow
NIAGARA, ON, June 11 /CNW/ - Ontario Wine Week begins today with the
unveiling of the 2007 VQA Restaurant Award winners, a list that continues to
grow each year and reflects some of the province's top dining establishments.
Each year, the Wine Council of Ontario (WCO) accepts applications from
restaurants to be considered for an award for their representation of Ontario
VQA wine. The list of winners has grown to 91 which is up from the 63
restaurants who won last year.
"The increase in awareness of Ontario's premium VQA wine is truly
reflected in this ever expanding list of impressive restaurants who maintain a
broad selection of our products," said Norm Beal, WCO Chair.
"Ontario Wine Week is a great time for consumers to support these great
restaurants and enjoy a combination of superior cuisine and premium VQA wine,"
added Beal. The Provincial Government has officially designated the third week
of June as Ontario Wine Week.
The 91 winning restaurants are from throughout Ontario including Toronto,
Stratford, Guelph, Kitchener, Cambridge, Picton and the Niagara region. To

The Wine Council of Ontario is a non-profit trade association that
represents Ontario's four wine regions - Niagara Peninsula, Pelee Island, Lake
Erie North Shore and Prince Edward Country. These regions grow 75 per cent of
the grapes used in Canadian wine production.
