    MONTREAL, Dec. 4 /CNW Telbec/ - On December 22nd, Canadian audiences will
enjoy San Francisco Ballet's magnificent annual production of Nutcracker, an
event that has long dazzled families throughout the holiday season.
Audiences in select cinemas will see San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker,
which plays to unanimous critical acclaim each December. The New York Times
proclaims, "This is a Nutcracker on a grand scale - visually smashing,
elegant, and beautiful."
The performance will be captured live in December at the "jewel of San
Francisco" the War Memorial Opera House (where it plays to sold out houses),
and appear in High Definition and digital Surround Sound on Canadian screens
Saturday, December 22nd.
Mark Hooper, CEO of DigiScreen, says: "Presenting international caliber
events, across North America and beyond, requires special treatment in order
to get the best possible image in front of audiences at the same local time.
The HD image of Nutcracker will be captured in San Francisco and then moved
rapidly to cinemas across North America. It will then be presented in
theatres, virtually as the next show is on stage in San Francisco. The cinema
audience benefits in terms of high presentation quality and also from show
times convenient to their locale."

of DigiScreen's coming slate: first class international productions of music
and dance that is captured live in performance and presented in front of
Canadian audiences during the current run of the stage production.

internationally. Under the direction of Helgi Tomasson for more than two
decades, the Company has achieved an international reputation as one of the
preeminent ballet companies in the world. In 2005, San Francisco Ballet won
the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award, its first, in the category of
"Outstanding Achievement in Dance," for its 2004 London tour.
