Desjardins stands out from other financial institutions through ATM and telephone service excellence, according to Synovate



    LEVIS, QC, Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group was recognized for
excellence among all Canadian financial institutions in the 2008 Customer
Service Index (CSI) survey carried out by Synovate, an international market
research firm. Desjardins received two Best Banking Awards 2008, one for each
of the following categories: "ATM Banking Excellence" and "Telephone Banking
Excellence."
    Synovate's 2008 Customer Service Index (CSI) was conducted among a
regionally and demographically representative sample of Canadians. The Best
Banking awards are based on the combined results of the 35,000 responses
received over the year, ending in August 2008. The CSI survey first appeared
in 1987.

    Ms. Leroux also noted that this distinction is to be added to the two
other awards received recently by Accès D services, who cover telephone,
Internet (www.desjardins.com) and ATM services: the 2007 Grand Prix québécois
de la qualité award - Québec's highest quality recognition award and the very
prestigious Customer Operation Performance Center (COPC) certification, which
recognizes excellence in contact centre performance, service quality and
client satisfaction while reducing costs. Desjardins is the only financial
institution in the world to have received this certification for the fourth
consecutive year.
    With more than 2,900 units, the Desjardins ATM network is by far the
largest in Québec. A few years ago, Desjardins undertook a major project to
upgrade its ATM network with the latest technological innovations, such as the
ability to read smart cards (to be introduced in the coming years).
