Daytime just got better with CBC Television: It's a good thing with Steven and Chris' new show and Martha Stewart in the mix

TORONTO, Sept. 5 /CNW/ - CBC Television today unveiled its exciting new
daytime schedule - a mix of original homegrown shows, returning audience
favourites and the Canadian debut of THE MARTHA STEWART SHOW.
The network also announced that in January, Canada's favourite design and
living team Steven Sabados and Christopher Hyndman will contribute to the
daytime makeover of CBC with an all-Canadian original production.
"We're very excited about the new daytime schedule and we think our
viewers will be too," said Kirstine Layfield, executive director of network
programming, CBC Television. "It's a fresh lineup of the best programming that
reflects what our audiences tell us they want from CBC."
The schedule kicks off at 6 a.m. with CBC: NEWS MORNING, providing
viewers with live breaking news as it unfolds from all corners of the world,
while CBC NEWS: TODAY broadcasts the latest business, health, entertainment
and lifestyle news each day at noon. Community living gets a boost at 1 p.m.
with the regional program LIVING IN...Canadians across the country can get the
latest on their region, with a showcase on the people, places and things that
make up their communities - from the hottest new restaurants, to dating
survival tips, healthy living habits and much more. CBC Television gives
Canadians the goods on the cities and regions where they live!
KIDS' CBC is committed to Canadian children and their families. This
year, along with returning favourites, KIDS' CBC introduces two exciting new
features. KIDS' CANADA entertains and educates the preschool set with its
uniquely Canadian puppet and animated characters in settings that represent
Canada from coast-to-coast-to-coast, along with children from across the
country. KIDS' CANADA segments will appear between shows during the KIDS' CBC
morning preschool block on CBC Television. And this season marks the debut of
BO ON THE GO! a Canadian-produced animation series following the adventures of
Bo, a positive, energetic and inquisitive young heroine who, along with her
young friend Dezadore dragon ("Dezzy"), encourages children at home to go on
amazing adventures by actively joining her in a variety of movements.
THE MARTHA STEWART SHOW has its Canadian network premiere on Monday,
September 10 at 11 a.m. This popular syndicated talk show combines Martha's
signature style with her passion for people and projects. On any given
hour-long episode, Canadians will find celebrities and ordinary people sharing
their recipes, creating beautiful crafts, and great design tips.
Plus, one of CBC's most enduring series returns at 2 p.m. The much-loved
and award-winning WIND AT MY BACK is set in the Depression era and lovingly
chronicles the struggles of the Bailey family and the other everyday heroes
who live in the mining town of New Bedford.
In November, the network will announce its Winter 2008 schedule.
