DaimlerChrysler Canada Names New Vice President



    Lorraine J. Shalhoub becomes Vice President - General Counsel / External
    Affairs and Public Policy

    WINDSOR, ON, April 17 /CNW/ - DaimlerChrysler Canada today announced that
Lorraine (Lori) J. Shalhoub has been appointed Vice President - General
Counsel / External Affairs and Public Policy.
    In this position, Ms. Shalhoub is responsible for all DaimlerChrysler
Canada Inc. (DCCI) legal activities. She will also have oversight
responsibility for all External Affairs and Public Policy (EAPP) activities in
Canada in coordination with EAPP (Americas).
    "Lori is a proven leader who has demonstrated a unique ability to help
DaimlerChrysler Canada achieve its business goals," said Reid Bigland,
President and CEO - DaimlerChrysler Canada. "I am glad to have Lori on my team
in her new capacity as General Counsel, while continuing to benefit from her
experience and expertise in External Affairs."
    The position of Vice President - General Counsel was most recently held
by Stephen R. Rose, who left the company in January to pursue other business
interests.
    Ms. Shalhoub joined DaimlerChrysler Canada in 1997 and has most recently
served as Director - EAPP, DCCI. She holds a Bachelor of Communication and a
Law Degree from the University of Windsor as well as a Law Degree from Wayne
State University in corporate law.
    It is also announced today that Maura R. Cook is appointed Senior Manager
- External Affairs and Public Policy reporting to Ms. Shalhoub. Ms. Cook will
be responsible for all government relations activity at the local, provincial
and federal level as they relate to DaimlerChrysler Canada Inc. and their
impact on business strategy. Ms. Cook joined DaimlerChrysler in 1985 and most
recently served as Senior Manager, State Relations in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
She holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Western Michigan
University, a Masters of Business Administration degree from Michigan State
University and a Law degree from the University of Toledo.
