Daily Bread announces new food programs in Etobicoke and Scarborough at start of Spring Drive

TORONTO, March 11, 2016 /CNW/ -

As Daily Bread's Spring Drive starts, Executive Director Gail Nyberg announces progress on opening up new food programs in under-served areas of Toronto. The Toronto West SDA Food Bank opened in the late fall in response to the increasing numbers of people living in poverty in the inner suburbs of Toronto. A new partnership with Canadian South Asian Growth and Support Services, and Working Women Community Centre, will see a new food bank open in June in north Scarborough. Both Etobicoke and Scarborough are vastly underserved when it comes to social service programs for people living in poverty.
