announced that it will be involved in a NSERC Strategic research project with
the University of Ottawa's School of Information Technology and Engineering
(SITE). The project's goal is to design and implement a framework for Haptic,
interactive Virtual Environments in a tele-presence that would efficiently
support and manage Haptic Audio Visual Environments in a tele-presence context
on the internet. Haptics is a study of the sense of touch in a human-computer
interaction. The results of the research could be used in computer animation,
home entertainment and robotic simulation.
