LONGUEUIL, QC, Nov. 15 /CNW/ - D-BOX Technologies Inc. (TSX-V: DBO.A), a
leading provider of motion technology for immersive home entertainment, today
announced that it has officially launched its new Motion Gaming Chair designed
specifically for the flight simulation gaming market. The GP-200FS was
unveiled in collaboration with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University at the
AVSIM FANCON Conference and Exhibition, co-sponsored by Microsoft(R) Flight
"We are proud of our new Motion Gaming Chair resulting from our
collaboration with one of the world's leading aeronautical university," said
Claude Mc Master, President and CEO of D-BOX Technologies. "Our technology
enables for precise movements that create a realistic flight experience,
perfectly suited for video games like Microsoft's Flight Simulator X."
This year at the AVSIM FANCON show, we organized a flight competition
with FSscore.com where non-professional pilots have to land an F/18 fighter
plane on an aircraft carrier. By using the GP-200FS to perform the
competition, we were able to include motion, providing for a more realistic
flight and an added challenge," said Raynald Bédard, Associate Professor at
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona.
In its original configuration, the D-BOX GP-200FS Motion Gaming Chair
comes equipped with three motion actuators that deliver three degrees of
freedom (pitch, roll and heave). The chair also comes equipped with USB motion
interface, a force feedback "joystick" with pedals, a complete speaker system,
all mounted on a sturdy steel tube frame. The GP-200FS is compatible with most
high-profile flight simulation and racing games.
D-BOX Technologies designs and manufactures high-technology motion
systems destined mainly for the entertainment industry. Its unique, patented
technology uses motion codes specifically programmed for each film, TV program
or video game, resulting in motion that is perfectly synchronized with
on-screen action. By forming strong industry alliances, D-BOX's award-winning
motion technology is creating a global standard in the entertainment world.
