CUTA's National Transit Conference Opens in Québec City - Media Advisory



    QUEBEC, Nov. 9 /CNW/ - Transit professionals will meet in Québec from
November 10 to 14 for the Canadian Urban Transit Association's (CUTA) Fall
Conference and Trans-Expo 2007, Canada's bus and transit exhibition. More than
500 delegates and over 130 exhibitors will be attending the meetings and
events under the theme: "The Way Forward." The conference is being hosted by
the Réseau de transport de Québec (RTC).
    Meetings and educational sessions will take place at the Hilton Québec
Hotel and Trans-Expo 2007 will take place at the Québec City Conference Centre
on Tuesday, November 13 2007 only, from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    8:00am           Opening breakfast with Hon. Lawrence Cannon, Minister of
                     Transport, Infrastructure and Communities
                     (Remarks begin at 8:30 am in the Porte du Palais)

    Tues. Nov. 13

                     Vehicles and displays on the industry's latest
                     innovations, products and services
                     (Remarks and ribbon cutting at 8:20 am at the Québec
                     City Convention Centre)

    Wed. Nov. 14

    8:00am-9:30am    Awards Breakfast - National Transit Employee Recognition
                     Awards and Centennial Scholarship Presentations
                     (Ceremony begins at 8:30 am)

    9:45am-10:45am   Keynote address by Marc Garneau to open the Sustainable
                     Development theme of the day's sessions

    12:45-2:15pm     Closing Lunch with Hon. Julie Boulet, Québec Minister of
                     Transportation
                     (Remarks begin at 1:30 pm)
