CUTA Applauds Funding Announcements in Ontario and Québec

TORONTO, March 7 /CNW/ - The Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA)
applauds the federal government on its investment in Toronto-area public
transit and the funding announcement for Bus Rapid Transit service in
Gatineau.
"Yesterday's announcements are important pieces of the transit puzzle.
The next step is to have a coordinated National Transit Strategy that
completes the puzzle" says Michael Roschlau, CUTA President and CEO. "The
cooperation of all three levels of government in these funding announcements
is an encouraging sign and their projected transit development plans will help
ease traffic congestion, improve air quality and upgrade the economic vitality
of Canada's communities."

CUTA is the voice for enhancing the public transit industry in Canada.
Association members include public transit systems, suppliers to the
industry, government agencies, individuals and related organizations in
Canada.
