CUPE reaches tentative agreement at Memorial University



    ST. JOHN'S, Oct. 17 /CNW/ - A tentative agreement has been reached
between CUPE Local 1615 and Memorial University.
    Local 1615 represents more than 900 employees who work in technical,
administrative and instructional positions in St. John's and at the Grenfell
College campus in Corner Brook.
    CUPE National Representative Brian Farewell says, "The parties used
what's called an interest based approach with the assistance of a facilitator
from the Department of Labour."
    Specific details will be announced once the members of Local 1615 have
discussed and voted on the agreement.
