CTV Creative Agency Takes 69 Medals at PROMAX and BDA Awards in NY

    NEW YORK, June 20 /CNW/ - CTV has been recognized with more awards than
any other broadcaster in the world at the 2008 PROMAX and BDA Awards in New
York City this week. The CTV Creative Agency was honoured with 69 medals
recognizing excellence in promotion and design - more than any other Canadian
broadcaster and the biggest medal tally for any broadcaster in the world.

    They are the first PROMAX/BDA awards for the CTV Creative Agency since
its inception last fall and now confirm it as one of the most acclaimed
in-house creative groups in international television.

    The CTV Creative Agency Captured 23 Gold Medals, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze,
including five "World Gold" awards representing the best in international
television design and promotion. CTV, "A" and its affiliates were honoured
with 19 awards, while MTV also received 19 nods, including the prestigious BDA
North America Judge's Choice Award for Art Direction & Design. Other CTV
specialty services recognized with awards include The Comedy Network (5), TSN
(5), Discovery Channel (4), MuchMusic (4), SPACE (3), MuchLOUD (3), Bravo!
(2), FashionTelevision Channel (1), SexTV (1), MuchMoreMusic (1), Razer (1)
and Star! (1).

    The CTV Creative Agency service's CTV's 27 conventional television
stations, 35 specialty networks, 35 radio stations and numerous company
websites, producing, almost entirely in-house, all creative material required
by the company. This includes the design and execution of all show elements
for in-house productions, all on-air promotions, all advertising design, all
street-level marketing and all media buys for the entire company. Unlike most
broadcasters, CTV conceives, designs and delivers almost all of its on-air and
off-air promotional campaigns in-house.

    Promax/BDA is the worldwide association of entertainment marketers,
promoters and designers, representing more than 500 television stations and
all major broadcast and cable networks from the U.S. as well as more than
3,000 individual members in 70 countries. The association provides members
with education, recognition and interaction through conferences, award
competitions and publications as well as networking opportunities.
