CALGARY, June 18 /CNW/ - CriticalControl Solutions Corp., (TSX-V:CCZ)
today announced progress on its integrated gas production database development
initiative, ProStream. The initiative is an effort to consolidate the various
forms of data associated with gas production and to reduce the significant
time burden related to managing redundant and conflicting production data.
CriticalControl's current offering to Canada's gas producers include:
1. ScanGas, a proprietary measurement and analysis service used by gas
producers to determine their gas production from gas wells which are
monitored using gas chart recorders;
2. NetFlow, a proprietary, web based measurement and control application
used by gas producers to track gas production and manage electronic
devices at gas wells which are monitored using electronic flow
measurement devices; and
3. ProTrend, a proprietary validation and analysis service, used by gas
producers to manage gas composition data associated with gas wells
and other measurement points.
By the end of 2008, the databases currently used by ScanGas, Netflow and
ProTrend will be replaced by, or integrated into, the ProStream database. As
such, management expects the ProStream database to contain production data
associated with more than 100,000 measurement points making ProStream the
largest consolidation of measurement data in Canada. As at March 31, 2008,
more than 31,000 gas wells were monitored by the ScanGas service, more than
2,400 gas wells were monitored by Netflow and more than 67,000 measurement
points were monitored by ProTrend.
"We are pleased with the positive response from our key clients relating
to the ProStream concept," said Alykhan Mamdani, President and CEO of
CriticalControl. "ProStream is our answer to the industry's need to contain
administrative costs, increase data integrity and leverage essential
production data to empower our clients to make informed decisions related to
their operations. ProStream does this by consolidating essential production
data into one location that is simply accessible and manageable."
The major benefits of ProStream are as follows:
1. ProStream is independent of the measurement device or method used to
collect measurement data from a well site. Whether data is collected
using a gas chart recorder or any form of electronic flow
measurement, it will be available from a single repository. The
method of collection chosen by the gas producer will also be
irrelevant; whether through a web-SCADA product such as NetFlow, a
full SCADA implementation or any new form of collection such as
walk-up SCADA using Bluetooth or similar technology, all data can be
integrated into full field reporting with a single hierarchy and in a
single consolidated format.
2. The duplication of hierarchies and security accesses associated with
different applications will be eliminated, significantly reducing
administrative time and expense.
3. ProStream is chronologically-based to enable flexibility required to
retroactively capture missed changes at the wellsite such as orifice
plate changes - enabling the automated recalculation of production
data while tracking the nature of any such changes for full audit
4. ProStream will have integrated validation capabilities for all
production data. Currently, the only options for this type of data
assurance rest with stand alone applications, the cost of which are
high due to the need for integrating data into the application from
various sources. As ProStream will be the primary source for the
data, validation applications and other value added tools can be
built into the product for use by gas producers without the high
costs associated with the implementation of third party stand alone
5. ProStream is web based and all functionality will be available on a
monthly or annual cost per measurement point.
