CRH Medical Corporation announces substantial increase in patient visits

VANCOUVER, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - CRH Medical Corporation (CRM:TSX-V) announced
today for the year ended December 31, 2007, it had 13,461 patient visits at
its Centers for Colorectal Health compared to 1,699 patient visits for the
same period in 2006.
Commenting on this achievement, Edward Wright, CEO of CRH Medical
Corporation stated, "In 2007, we demonstrated the strong demand for the
CRH O'Regan hemorrhoid banding technology and treatment protocol. In 2008, we
plan to open several additional Centers in new markets throughout the United
States allowing CRH to further capitalize on this large and underserved
market. According to the National Institutes of Health the prevalence rate of
symptomatic hemorrhoids in the United States is approximately 4.4% of the
population or 13.3 million people."
Centers open one year or longer continue to show strong growth, with
patient visits increasing 485% for the three months ended December 31, 2007
compared to the same period in 2006.
Commenting on the CRH O'Regan Hemorrhoid Banding technology and treatment
protocol, Dr. Iain Cleator, Chief Medical Director of CRH said, "The most
important aspect of our technology and treatment protocol is that we are
experiencing the same excellent results in each of our Centers. This means
that our training methodology and treatment protocol is transferable and
reproducible."
Dr. Carolyn Million, Medical Director of CRH's San Francisco Center,
added, "As a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons I
have treated hemorrhoids for 15 years. In my opinion the CRH O'Regan banding
technology and treatment protocol consistently provide a significantly higher
level of patient satisfaction compared with other hemorrhoid treatments
options."
