Credit Industry Certification provides much needed 'Credit-ability'

TORONTO, June 12 /CNW/ - "After two years of extensive review, the Credit
Institute of Canada is proud to announce that the new designation of CCP,
Certified Credit Professional, has been approved. We believe that the
Certified Credit Professional designation not only clearly describes what the
accreditation is, it also makes it more appealing to prospects and businesses
alike. Having staff who are Certified Credit Professionals all but guarantees
a very high level of credibility or 'credit-ability,'" states newly elected
CIC national board president, Steven Cooke.
"The Credit Institute serves a vital need in the business community by
educating and continuously developing credit professionals for their personal
development and for the benefit of the Canadian businesses that employ them,"
Mr. Cooke points out. "In uncertain times and with news of the 'R-word'
growing every day, CCP spells 'certainty.' It's a designation we're really
excited to be able to offer."
"Other finance and accounting professions enjoy high awareness and
acceptance of their designations," adds Regina Delovitch, General Manager,
Credit Institute of Canada from her office in Toronto. "Everyone has heard of
a CGA, CA or CMA but it's likely that many are unaware that credit
professionals are just as professional and can be certified. With the new
certification there is no ambiguity and no confusion - to be a certified
credit professional the person must clearly be amongst the best in credit
management!"
Now in its eightieth year, and with about 2,000 members, the Credit
Institute of Canada strives to be the most reputable, sought-after
professional association and authority in credit education. The Institute
provides credit management resources, education and certification to those in
credit management. "Moreover, our members provide integral services to
businesses which profit from the member's values and expertise though
accountability, compliance and protection of assets," Ms. Delovitch confirms.
"By changing the name and terms of our designation we are being clear that CCP
is a rigorous and reputable benchmark of excellence. That's good news for the
credit industry and great news for Canadian business who profit by our hard
work!"
