Credential appoints Doce Tomic as President & CEO



    VANCOUVER, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - The Credential Financial Inc. (Credential)
Board of Directors has named Doce Tomic as the company's President and Chief
Executive Officer.
    With over 20 years financial services experience, Mr. Tomic brings a deep
understanding of the industry. His career includes 15 years at Royal Bank of
Canada (RBC) in Vancouver and Toronto which led to appointments as President
and CEO of Action Direct, Director of National RBC Investments, and National
Head of Wealth Management. In this latter role, he was responsible for
leadership of the Private Counsel, Private Trust, Private Banking, Dominion
Securities, and Action Direct businesses within RBC, collectively overseeing
$150 billion in assets and more than 3,500 people.
    For the past several years, Tomic served as Chief Operating Officer of
Wellington West Capital and President of Wellington West Asset Management in
Winnipeg. Most recently, he was President of Ticoon Technology, a
privately-held Canadian technology firm in Toronto.
    "Doce brings significant investment experience to Credential," says Bob
Hague, Chair of the Credential Board of Directors. "From his early start as an
investment advisor and then branch manager, coupled with his executive
experience in wealth management, Doce is well positioned to lead Credential's
growth going forward."
    Tomic sees significant opportunities for credit unions and Credential.

    A native Vancouverite, Tomic returns to the West Coast after many years
in Toronto. He joined Credential on January 1, 2009.
